The Citadel is considered as an important site because it has had a long history of occupation by many great civilizations. 
Many of the site buildings are still exist like the Temple and Hand of Hercules. This site have revealed numerous Roman, Byzantine, 
and early Islamic remains it is one of the oldest continuously inhabit places in the world.
